With my Jiu Jitsu courses, I will help students gain important skills through the use of my “F.B.I.A.O. Method™️” - which stands for:

• Fundamentals

• Basics

• Intermediates

• Advanced

• Out of This World

In Harris Jiu Jitsu (HJJ), The Fundamentals have very little to do with technique. Rather, they have everything to do with laying a foundation for The Basics! This is so different than everyone in our industry - because we so often hear how "It's all about technique!"

Here is a glimpse of some of the twenty-eight (28) subcategories found in The Harris Jiu Jitsu Fundamentals:

01. Definitions

In my courses, I bring clarity to basic words like “skill”, “technique”, “practice” and “drill.” Why is this important? Consider the following: If you don’t know what the word skill means in context to Jiu Jitsu training, how will you know when you have it? NOTE: Just because you can submit someone doesn’t mean you have a skill!

03. Principles / Concepts that Guide

Have you been taught the difference between a principle and a concept? Have you been taught how turn the knowledge of principle and concepts into a measurable skill? If so, great. If not, then my courses are for you!

04. Equations

Equations are the combination of elements that equal a result. Here’s an example: Strength + technique + aggressiveness = effectiveness! I am confident you have witnessed and experienced this equation. How about the equation that equals efficiency? Have you been taught that one? If so, great. If not, my courses can help!

07. Twelve (12) Practice Methods

Practice has a definition, a goal and a purpose. And in Harris Jiu Jitsu, there are twelve practice methods that will help you reach your goals in a shorter period of time! Does this sound like something you’d be interested in learning?

13. Defensive Positioning

This kind of Positioning has to do with the management of two very important elements of training. These two elements must be present BEFORE a student begins to execute an escaping technique. Otherwise, a lot of energy will be wasted. If you don’t know these positionings, my escape courses can help you to escape much easier!

With The Harris Jiu Jitsu Basics, there are eighty-two (82) subcategories. These represent all of the "How-To/Mechanical" aspects of the art.

And just like The Fundamentals, The Intermediates have very little to do with technique. Rather, they have everything to do with skill development!

Here are the chief benefits of presenting Jiu Jitsu in this manner:

  1. Measurable skills in as little as two weeks!

  2. Greater enjoyment DURING and AFTER training!

  3. Greater clarity of mind & purpose BEFORE & DURING sparring!

  4. Fewer injuries!

  5. Less downtime away from family, friends, job and other hobbies!
